Gravitational Lensing is a film series dedicated to exploring the visions, voices, concerns and lineage of women, non-binary, genderqueer and trans filmmakers through public film screenings, workshops, conversations and presentations. This limited-run, monthly series, organized and curated by filmmaker and feminist film scholar Amy Reid and myself and supported by San Francisco Cinematheque is currently being presented at Shapeshifters Cinema and will run through 2026.
Earmarked for Collision: A Highly Biased Tour of Collage Animation, by writer and curator Chris Robinson was recently published by CRC Press/Routledge. This book takes us on a tour of the history of collage animation, cataloguing the collage works of notable artists like Larry Jordan, Harry Smith, Stan Vanderbeek, Terry Gilliam, Janie Geiser, Martha Colburn, Lewis Klahr, Run Wrake, Lei Lei, Kelly Sears, Jodie Mack, and many, many others (including me!).
